There is a high probability that ISIS members are already on US soil plotting an attack. Our policy is to bomb them in Syria, while using domestic assets to bust drug dealers. Would you support ending the war on drugs to focus on the war on terror?

Round em up and send them to hell.

No. Both wars are important (terror & drugs), and we can fight them simultaneously.

WOD is pointless. End it regardless. Make drug use a public health issue, not a criminal one.

Actually they make a lot of money by selling drugs.

I don't believe it's really a dichotomy between fighting drugs and fighting terrorism. Often the two are interrelated

Yes to the first part; no to the second. A "war" on a tactic rather than an enemy fails the moment it begins, and goes downhill from there.

"Would you support ending the war on drugs"

05/23/17 10:12 am

Yes, because once we stop fighting terrorists they will just throw away their bombs...

Yes, because invading two countries, helping to topple regimes in several others, and bombing many more has done so much good for us and has kept terrorists on the run...

Oh, wait, that's how we created ISIS, a terrorist organization so bad even Al Queada has disavowed them and literally given them material assistance while also attacking their main enemy.

The war on terror is a farce.

We dismantled Al Qaeda then left and now because of the vaccume created by Barack Hussein OBAMA himself we have ISIS.

Yes. Reinvest the funds to mental health, rehab, education, and change the focus of intelligence/police services to terror/violent crime

No, both are bullshit excuses for a further centralization of power.

A lot of the time I don't agree with you at all, but sometimes you have a knack for hitting the nail right on the head.

Neither. The war on drugs has failed; we need to make drugs a health issue and focus on rehabilitation. The war on terror is racist and needs to die.

Mostly agree, but how is the war on terror racist?

I'm curious as well.

No, as then cops would only be even more zealous with an even more emotional excuse to violate people's rights.

The war on drugs is necessary and should continue. The war against terrorists should continue too. Add resources if we don't have enough already.

05/23/17 6:49 am

The war on drugs must be amplified. Drugs cause way more problems for American society than terrorists can even dream of

Absolutely correct. Legalizing heroin and similar drugs would cause results that nobody wants to think about.

Portugal decriminalized drugs and saw deaths go down. They saw crime go down. They saw drug use go down. Rehab is far far far better.

05/23/17 7:34 am

Do you have any idea how much rehab costs? 20,000 for a month per person, and the junkies will go in and out. Time to eliminate the drug dealers and cartels, raise the prison time

I would attribute the decline in drug usage in Portugal is due to the focus on rehabilitation not necessarily due to criminalization of drugs.

It costs a lot more to imprison people for years and pay their court costs then to put someone in rehab for two months and have them live a drug-free life. The war on drugs is racist, terrible and it has FAILED!

05/23/17 8:00 am

Not everything you dislike is racist, and you just completely ignored my point that rehab is not a cure all. Most addicts relapse as soon as they get out. It won't stop until the supply is eliminated. If they have nothing to live for they will continue using drugs and getting more people addicted. Time to crack down on the dealers, notice that when we stopped doing that stuff we are now experiencing serious problems with drug abuse. Lock up the doctors, the dealers, and the cartels. Rehab in prison

I have been in rehab. It works. Don't make bullshit claims without evidence.

Nixon, the person who started the drug war, admitted he started it because it would affect black people.

05/23/17 9:49 am

Same in Netherlands . You will always have people that waste their lives on drugs and alcohol - so isolate them and put them in a perpetual stupor so they leave the rest of us alone , reducing crime and warehousing them

05/23/17 9:51 am

Music, you're a BS artist. You say you haven't even graduated from HS yet but you've been to rehab? Rehab for a sprain or a broken bone is not the same as drug/alcohol rehab. Had you actually gone or spoken with people there you'd know that most are mandated by the state and relapse when they get out.

musicotic Michigan
05/23/17 11:32 am

I went to rehab for being suicidal. There were many people there for drugs.

05/23/17 11:58 am

I'll give you one source.

21% sobriety rate after rehab. The completion rate is around 50% so even less of the people who go in remain sober. It is by no means a fix all and is very expensive to keep sending people to programs which cost 15-20k if the states $ when they are just gonna get high when they get out
