The terrible tragedy of the Vietnam War lasted nearly 20 years. The Afghan War has gone on for over 15 years. Is it time to pull our troops out of Afghanistan?
Pakistan where they have sanctuary. Since Pakistan has nuclear arms, we will suffer if the Islamic Extremists takeover. When the other side wants global jihad, we have only two choices, crush them or surrender. Obama tried surrender and that didn't work so well. India may have an interest in defeating them. War is the choice of last resort. What prolongs them is idiotic rules of engagement usually provided by Democrats. If Liberals are so anti-war, why have they chosen to take violence to the streets?
Besides the greatest chocolate is coming from Belgium.
We cannot invade Belgium, because 2/3 of Americans cannot identify that country on a world map. Plus it's not big enough for a reasonably sized occupying army.
That is correct in terms of casualties. However, both wars are "Quicksand" in terms of ever being able to extract our military and claim any semblance of a victory.
Please don't forget the Russians were in Afghanistan for approximately 15 years before the USA, the cost to the national debt is staggering! Let's rebuild America now.
Get in -- all the way in and fix it or get out. That's just an instinctive reaction. I have no idea how convoluted the situation is there. I felt this way about Vietnam too. (yes I am that old)
