It's physically possible to over dose on cannabis- True or False
Not overdose to die,but overdose enough to throw up. I tried a pot brownie once and it was so good I are the whole thing when 1/4 was the max dosage. I couldn't tell if I was standing or laying down..I couldn't stop throwing up.. I got sick.
I don't think any amount of THC can accumulate at such levels to kill you unless your body had no way of discharging it in time like any other substance. I mean if your body can't eliminate excess nutrients from food, you'll die. As for . . .
. . . the burned particles and smoke that enter your lungs, I'm sure if you literally don't stop smoking weed or any substance for a few days straight, you'll have problems.
I got really high once and had to lay down. Lol
Possible, yes. But you'd pass out from smoking way to much before you could smoke the amount, which means your friends would have to pretty much keep popping a joint into your unconcious mouth.
There was a guy who drank so much soy sauce (I think a quart) that he almost died of salt overdose. I would say anything is possible.
That's the point of this question to OD on cannabis you would have to consume an impossible amount. I link further down to the wiki page.
Isn't it possible to concentrate it? If someone has never smoked it before and get a real strong dose? I don't know but I will believe it.
Depends on what concentrate you're talking about. Hash oil/wax- no you can't. Same thing applies you can't consume enough to OD before passing out. Medically concentrate stuff like the liquid THC- yes you can over dose. I just don't consider that...
... To be cannabis. That IMAO turns it into straight THC and cannabis isn't straight THC or that high in concentration.
OK I will believe you. I don't have any personal experience and don't plan on getting either :-)
Rlands: part of the fun of shrooms is the hunt. Youll go over hundreds of non active mushrooms before finding that precious patch of psilocybes. The thrill of the hunt is a high in its self.
The ratio of cannabis material required to produce a fatal overdose to the amount required to saturate cannabinoid receptors and cause intoxication is approximately 40,000:1.......
A typical marijuana "joint" contains less than 10 mg of THC, and one would have to smoke thousands of those in a short period of time to approach toxic levels
I.E. you can't overdose.
Exactly, it is physically impossible even though people are still trying to fight that.
Sadly, not everyone is as smart as you and me.
I've tried, ended up almost ODing on Taco Bell.
Lmao! How the implementation of A64 coming for you guys?
Honestly, it has made no difference where I live. CO is weed Mecca. They're aiming to open up shops in about a year.
Those'll be fun
Well I know where I'm moving to!
Depends on what you mean by overdose. I've seen someone who "whitey-ed", or so it seems to be called. I thought it was a bit alarming but no one else was seriously worried.
Commonly most folks think death when you mention OD. Which is where I'm coming from with the question.
Ah well no I've never heard of that. I suppose if you shot enough of the liquid form into yourself it would eventually have some harmful effect, but I expect it would take some kind of ridiculous quantity.
You can overdose on anything. Even water.
You can not OD on cannabis it's physically impossible. You would have to smoke something along the lines of a telephone pole to OD, you would pass out long before that would happen.
Overdoses don't always result in death. It can also result in permanent damage.
If you can not consume enough to OD before passing out then how is it possible?
You can consume enough before passing out. Not everyone has the same tolerance.
You're telling me you can consume a telephone pole worth of cannabis?
Where did you ever get a quantity like that?
Overdose - ingesting a substance to a toxic state, possibly causing damage or death.
That's the point to OD and cannabis it's such a ridiculous amount of it (telephone pole). You would pass out long before that or any other "serious damage" happens. So how is it possible if you physically can't consume that amount.
Again, I ask, where did you get that such a quantity would be required?
This is just an inspired guess. But, you're high right now, aren't you?
Long answer--I assume you haven't been high before if you think I'm knocking out coherent responses in a quick time. :-)
Short answer-- No.
I used to be a regular consumer.
If your definition of OD is death, fine. But you should look into THC overdose symptoms.
You get about six times the THC from a vaporizer..,,
You can't. I pretty sure it's been proven.
Technically you can! But nobody will, ever...
Which is way I said physically possible, it's not you would pass out before you would even get close.
Lets legalize all the safe drugs.
Pot, acid, shrooms, etc etc.
I say legalize all drugs. Focus on treatment
Ok, lets legalize it all. Make the man angry.
And get legal shrooms in the process. Though part of the appeal (to me personally, at least) is the illegality. I never know who might find out...
Part of the fun is hunting for the shrooms rlands. Youll go over hundreds of non active mushrooms before finding that precious little psilocybe. The thrill of the hunt is a high in its self.
I have a friend who wants to try shrooms. I'm interested in it too, I love the idea of possibly exploring the workings on my mind.
Exactly, Nicky. Like once you finish your shroom foraging it's like "oh great there's still more fun to come from these things".
Oh, and btw I hope you two are aware that I am completely joking. Don't do drugs, guys. Please.
I agree, I don't find meth, heroine, cocaine appealing. Cannabis and shrooms on the other hand personally I have no issues with them.
Suit yourself. I wouldn't do any sort of drugs. That's just me though.
Rlands- may I ask why? Is it fear? Fear of what can happen if you did dosage wrong/ of imprisonment if caught ect...?
No, it's the general concept of messing with my system. It just weirds me out. I won't even take Advil.
I hate taking modern medicine. I do fall into the "it's natural so not as bad/ we've been doing it for thousands of years" crowd though. Which is why I'm okay with natural things like shrooms and cannabis. Did you know breast milk has cannabinoids?
Huh, interesting. Gotta be traces at most though. Anyway...I'm not one of those "it's bad because it isn't natural" people, I just want full, non-numbed consciousness at all times. And there are the what-ifs, ODing like you mentioned.
It's really interesting stuff you're cannabinoid receptors are up in running in the fetus by 14-20 weeks. Drs are starting to believe the cannabinoids in the milk tell the child how to start feeding by giving it "the munchies" basically.
Whoa really? That makes a lot of sense but it's kind of crazy. Makes you wonder why it's illegal now if babies rely on it anyway haha
I understand and respect that, I use to be like that for the longest time. When ever I do use cannabis, which is few and far between, I feel like I come out with a better understanding of myself and the inner workings of my psyche.
Smoking probably not efficient enough of a delivery system. It may be possible to distill the thc into a concentrated form and directly inject or vaporize in an adequate quantity to cause an od but I'm no doctor.
Direct injection? As in shooting up? Please explain to me how that would work hash oil is more like a goo the liquid...
Vaping is the same as smoking you couldn't consume enough before you passed out.
I am arguing possibility rather than probability. I believe that thc itself could be isolated and delivered in a concentrated form rather than using the plant itself.
For medical use, there is a liquid form which can be injected.
Lets see if the "reefer madness" still alive and well.
No you can not overdose on cannabis, you would have to smoke a joint the size of a telephone pole to die from an OD. You would pass out long before then.
We shall see how truly stupid some people are.
You can overdose on anything. It just varies depending on the substance. You can overdose on water.
You said it's physically impossible to OD on it and then proceeded to explain how you could OD on it. Even though it takes a lot more than you can consciously consume, you can still OD on it.
No you would pass out long before you could smoke a tree worth of cannabis at one time. That makes it physically impossible to OD.
That's exactly what I just said.
So do you agree it's physically impossible then?
It's technically possible and impossible at the same time.
Not really. It's either you can sit there and smoke/dap/vape/eat thousands of joints to OD or not. You physically can not consume that much cannabis before passing out. Hence it's impossible.
