Scenario: I have two kids of the same age, and they have the same curfew. Kid A breaks curfew, and I ground them for a month. Kid B breaks curfew and they get a free pass. Is this an example of inconsistency?
As a parent you know that you don't have to keep the same rules for every child. Every child doesn't need the same. Your role as a parent is not to be fair.
I think if the circumstances were pretty much the same and kid A broke curfew first got grounded for a month then kid B should have learned from kid A's lesson and get grounded for a month and a half
Yeah I didn't think to clarify. They both broke curfew "just because", i.e: I was driving around with friends and didn't want to come home yet. Both have the same reason and excuse
