When a president is elected by the electoral college and didn't win the popular vote do you feel like your vote matters?

I'll be honest, I haven't studied the electoral college enough to make an informed statement.

Equal representation...12 amendment.

Hmm so we love and cite the constitution as reference to arguments that fit our agenda, then disregard it completely when we oppose an issue...hypocritical?

Anyone who consistently speaks about the constitution as it should never be changed, then voted "pitiful" on this question

You elect your representatives, they vote for president.
Your vote counts, just be smart when you vote for who represents you.

But your vote really doesn't matter. If you think it does, I would call that delusional.

It's also funny that more Rep voted 'pitiful' but they were so happy to see W go to the White House.

Do you really think Gore would have been a good president? Really?

As good as Bush was. As good as any recent president. If you think we've had a "good" president in the past 30 years, I scoff.

The popular vote doesn't mean anything, nor should it. The electoral college is already too heavily influenced by population.

In my opinion, the Electoral College gives far too much power to larger states.

My vote counts for President, for Senator, for Representative, for Governor, for State Congress, for mayor and even for dog catcher in some instances.

It's not just national - and sometimes those local and regional races are more important

Statistically, and even practically, it doesn't seem that it does

If voting really changed anything they'd outlaw it!---

Can't remember who said it.

Actually it was Emma Goldman and she said "if voting changed anything they'd make it illegal"

You have literally 4-5 states that could decide for the entire country

I believe the electoral college works.

Popular vote isn't fair to the lesser populated states

Yeah, how is the college any more fair?
