Is there a religion (or denomination of a religion) that seems to be especially prevalent in your area?

OHHHH yeah it's honestly ridiculous how many churches there are in my town (and how much political pull they have >:/) predominately Christian

And should have...they are citizens and voters too.

I'm not talking about citizens votes. I'm talking about the churches (those higher up) being in cahoots with the politicians to get it the way they want... It's more corrupted than that.

...but you said churches in your town? If you mean the larger national denominations then only the Catholic Church (Rome) and Episcopal/Chirch of England might have any true political influence. If you mean preachers or candidates talking policy...

...or politics from the pulpit, I still don't have a problem with that.

Neither of those are the predominate in mine (though they are large as well), like I said above Christian/Baptist. It's the strings they pull behind the scenes. However I disagree with politics at the pulpit church is intended only for the worship &

praise for God and not where you should push your own political beliefs unto the followers. I find it disrespectful. It is a holy ground.

Pretty much goes in this order: Southern Baptist, Evangelicals, your assorted Church of the Holy Wack-A-Do's & Methodist.

The Iron Range's religion forecast is catholic and catholic, with patchy bits of baptists, Methodists and non-denom Christians.

Many Southern Baptists and quite a lot of Hindus.

I rarely talk to anyone about that kind of thing so I'm not sure. In my area, Mormons seem to be the most vocal and open about their own beliefs.

Southern Baptist, Church of Christ, and Roman Catholic are the big three, and probably the nondenominational Evangelical Christian churches are right up there too - they're certainly the fastest growing.

Yeah, we have our fair share of non-denominational evangelical churches in OK too. They are HUGE churches.
