Are you naturally more athletic or artistic?

I literally have zero skill in either of those two.

04/11/16 7:09 am

I'm slow but can pack a punch or lay someone out in football and wrestling, and I can sing very well but I can only draw stick figures

Neither. I can't throw or jump, and I can't color within the lines πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

ARTISTIC. I can't throw a ball to save my life.

Neither! Lol but, since I have absolutely NO creative ability in artistic/crafty ways and I do exercise and am able to build strength and muscle, and I used to be able to run fast (prior to giving birth) and play a little softball and basketball....I have to choose athletic. 😜

04/10/16 5:13 am

you can twain yourself to be athletic more than you can to be artistic though.

Athletic and competitive AF

I am a little bit of both. I can't draw like the dc comics but I'm okay. I can do some pretty neat athletic stuff too.

Haha me artistic. Not even in my dreams.

Is there a neither option?

Discussion/Debate is *technically* art since it's improv speaking.

Since no wasn't a choice, I picked artistic. I'm pretty good at interior decorating, and used to be good at writing.

All y'all saying BOTH how can you be more of both of something I so confuse :/

04/09/16 5:28 pm

I don't think those things are opposing. I am both.

celloVirtuoso buried in sheet music
04/09/16 6:40 pm

They're definitely opposing things for many people. I spent my weekend in a dorm at JMU reserved for visual/performing arts majors and when asked about sports the vast majority of us laughed or blinked or said "Sports? What are those?"

yeast Story Time
04/10/16 3:45 pm

Hahahaha. Don't you have to be pretty athletic to dance?

celloVirtuoso buried in sheet music
04/10/16 4:09 pm

Yes, I'd think so. πŸ˜‚ But dance is still considered a performing art, and of the dance majors I met, most of them considered themselves unathletic. A few said they play soccer. I've never been much of a dancer myself, so I can't speak for any of them. πŸ˜…

Never heard of that sport

Praetorianus Fair enough.
04/09/16 4:15 pm

Same. I can draw stick figures and I can do long walks, but that's about the extent of it.

Loxx I Love Foxes

Athletic. (Unless you consider wood working to be artistic) I can't do anything artistic to save my life. But I can place in wrestling districts my first year at a 30 pound disadvantage and beat varsity kids throwing JV javelin at my first meet.

celloVirtuoso buried in sheet music
04/09/16 6:41 pm

Woodworking is generally artistic, I think. It's like sculpting, sort of, which is art. It's one of those things like dance, which can fall under both categories sometimes.

Loxx I Love Foxes
04/09/16 7:27 pm

When I say woodworking I tend to mean building functional things (chairs, tables, boxes, etc) rather than more artsy things

04/09/16 7:41 pm

Ah, you're quite handy. I still think in my opinion it's still more artistic than athletic. But I guess it can go either way.

Athletic. I could have been a star. Nah. Who knows? Friday night was church night, so no football for you, sinner.

A little bit of neither.

Lots of my ancestors made their living as artists, and the ability partially passed on to me. I'm not athletic at all, though.

04/09/16 12:43 pm

Way more artistic. Drawing, painting, singing, music in general, writing, poetry, etc. Lolol

I'm a good writer but I'm a way better athlete. I have a somewhat unique ability to maintain peak fitness in the absence of regular exercise. I've set personal records for distance running after 4+ weeks off.

That's really amazing! I would love to have a metabolism like that.

I'm only 20. That could have something to do with it. I'm the kind of guy that can smash a double quarter pounder meal and immediately go for a 6 mile run and still feel good.

Musically artistic, but I generally stay in shape.

kermie gaytopia
04/09/16 12:05 pm

I can passably cook, sing, draw, act, and design things. But I couldn't do anything athletic if my life depended on it.

Kimbobee the middle of nowhere

Neither lol but probably more artistic.

04/09/16 11:32 am

I'm actually pretty good at both naturally. Not prodigious by any stretch of the means, but I like to think I can hold my own in either!

04/09/16 11:29 am

Far more athletic than artistic.

kermie gaytopia
04/09/16 12:02 pm

Did you play any sports?

EarlyBird Portland
04/09/16 12:58 pm

Hi kermie! I did track and field in grammar school. I set the school record in the arm hang. Lol
Other than that, I didn't. However, because my mom saw I had a natural athletic ability, she signed me up for golf lessons, tennis lessons, karate, swimming, and more. She kept hoping I would pursue one but I never did. In college I discovered racquetball and loved it! I played all the time.
After school, it was too hard finding racquetball courts so I gave it up.

In college I took a badminton class but bought the racquetball book....and didn't even notice until the semester was over haha

I picked artistic, which I am not, really, but I try very hard to be the opposite of athletic. Breaking a sweat qualifies as a heat emergency in my book.

Athletics were a big part of my life. I come up short in the artistic area.

I paint and draw sometimes.

OhTheIrony Learning from you
04/09/16 10:47 am

I don't see myself as either, but if I had to choose, I'd say athletic.

04/09/16 10:46 am

That's tough, because both are major parts of who I feel I am. I went with athletic.

banana29 The Wild, Wild World
04/09/16 11:33 am

Same here! Both are major components of my personality.

04/09/16 10:46 am

Musical so I put artistic
