If 'Watergate' had never happened and Nixon had been able to serve out his full term as president, do you think he would have had a more positive or negative overall effect on our country?
He was in the process of ending the Vietnam war. I don't support the war, but we could've established another "South Korea" like state for Vietnam. Instead we let thousands of Americans and citizens die in vain for a stupid war.
Positive, I think. He was a good president in a lot of ways, with a lot of good potential. But he (or any of us) is not judged just for the good we do, ignoring the bad. He was a failure because he was of weak enough character to choose to be a failure, and that is how he will be remembered.
