If you type politics in the search option in the App Store, show of hands appears first, next to the motto "ask & answer polls, politics & more..." Given this, do you think it's odd that many people who use soh don't like political polls?

The folks I follow and who follow me do respond to and propose many political driven polls. I'm sure you could find folks who don't but my experience is the app is very politically driven.

A few things ... (1) When you search on the keyword Polls, SOH is #3. When I stumbled onto SOH, about 2 years ago, I was looking for a polling app, not a political app. I like to vote on my opinion, but this includes a wide range of ideas, not ...

... just politics. (2) Granted, the AppStore description has politics in the title, but the screen prints, reviews and verbiage of the description do not mention politics. (3) Most polls on the Hot List are not political.

When I bought the app, the description was different. For the most part, I find polls on politics to be never ending repetitions of whatever TV pundits are saying. The redundancy bores me, and the nastiness and name calling sadden me. I can read.

No. I think that many people who came to the app at least in part because of the political polls have become disenchanted with the nature of the discussions that ensue, & perhaps also with the nature of the questions in some user's political polls.

Susan is exactly right. I hate being called a liberal, or conservative, or commie, or socialist, or bigot, or racist, etc etc etc. Quit trying to label everyone.

Yep. My personal favorites are idiot, not smart, dumb Texan... Also, you're right, the need to label is exhausting. I've realized though all of it generally means they don't have an argument that shows yours go be wrong...
