Did you know the U.S. Had a plan to take over Canada and fight the United Kingdom? They even built some military airports near the border and from what I understand, Canada would have become more states and they'd just play defense against the UK

We've had contingency plans for the invasion of every country on earth since WWII... This isn't exactly "new" news

When did they make that plan?

Very interesting, thanks for the post.

I didn't, but I would be very surprised if we don't have a current version of a similar plan that takes into account current realities and capabilities. For every country, allies or otherwise.

They, like most powerful nations, had wars plans against every country. Germany executed their plan! Same for Japan!

Not sure, but I don't think it's been the only time we showed interest in Canadian property.

No, I've never heard of it but it doesn't seem terribly important. No one significant had any intentions of utilizing the plan

That's interesting. Who was president during that time?

According to the article, Herbert Hoover but the plan was created by the army and navy

Dinna know.

I liked the part of the wiki article that stated: "In this period of U.S. history, only the Congress could declare war"

Ahhhh. Those halcyon days...

I might be mistaken, but I heard that congress has never officially declared war since WWII

Which is exactly what I am referring to.
"Remember those days when it fell to the Congress before we got into one of these silly wars that were really only about trying to get resources from underdeveloped nations?"

"Neither do I."
