Do you believe therapy can be beneficial for those not suffering from a physiological disorder? Such as for someone with situational depression.

I only ask because I know some people from older generations that believe therapy is a crock. Strong will and hard work and determination is all you need, and those who seek therapy are weak. I myself believe therapy is extremely beneficial.

The success of the therapy depends on the willingness of the individual to share information. Since age 5, I've always lied to my therapists, I get too anxious and can't talk about the "heavy stuff"

It can be very helpful in many situations. It helps with situational as well as longer term problems.

Lots of us from older generations have a good deal of experience with therapy, & understand its value. I apologize for those of my generation who don't understand.

The Mrs. did for many years. Now with a busy schedule she hasn't for quite a while. She really appreciated the process, as it is ongoing. I tried to, but couldn't be honest with the therapist or myself. Just kept saying "Everything is great."
