President Donald Trump declared on Twitter on Monday morning that "numerous legal scholars" agreed he has "the absolute right" to pardon himself.
Squid, he said that based on what numerous legal scholars have advised him on. He also said it wouldn’t be politically smart, as did some of his legal advisors.
Trump didn’t say he would pardon himself. You should know Trump by now that he’s going to say things just to tick off the media and the left. You have to know that’s what he’s doing.
Under the fundamental rule that no one may be a judge in his own case, the president cannot pardon himself," the Department of Justice declared in 1974.
Nobody is above the law. Not this president. Not any president.
Semantics or not Squid, most presidents, including Trump, count on advisors for their legal positions. So it is important on who you attribute the “revelation” to.
I would hope that you could put any President’s name there and still get a vote for the Constitution every time, at least for people who don’t have major issues with it.
