While driving, & if you're trying to exit a place or enter a place, & another driver lets you in, do you thank them by waving or nodding to them for their consideration or do you just keep driving without looking back or thanking them?
When I learned how to drive many years ago, 1 thing I was taught is to thank other drivers if they let your car in or anything like that. So I've always been in the habit of thanking other drivers always for their consideration and I always try to be considerate of other drivers as well.
But what I've noticed lately is more often then not, when I let other cars go, the person doesn't look at me, no thanking me. Just keeps driving. I find that to be very rude and inconsiderate bc I don't need to let them go. I have the right of way. They don't. But I know how difficult it can be to get out of certain roads or areas with the traffic so I always try and let cars in if possible and I drive a lot. I find maybe 2 out of every 10 cars, the person will thank me.
What do you all think about this?
Were h taught to thank other drivers or did you never even think twice about how to respond or react when another driver does something nice for you?
I hope nobody confuses my wave 👋 with the middle finger ☝️
People see what they want to see 🤷♂️😂
