Affordable housing is a right - not a privelge.
Housing is not a right.
Does it require the time, labor, or property of others? If so, it’s not a human right
You can’t claim as a right anything anyone else must provide for you.
You have the right to work hard enough to afford the housing that you think is right for you.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean I'm not sure it should be a right, but that being said over here on the west coast housing is getting pretty outrageous. You can have a full time job working well above minimum wage and still not be able to afford the rent for a studio apartment. I'm not sure if it's a right, but I think it's something we need to figure out a solution to.
Still in disagreement.
Other than the obvious mental health issues, absolutely not.
You work for what you have.
What does "affordable" evem mean in this circumstance?
Thanks for your response. Here in NYC there is a lot of homelessness and very high rents. I do believe people have a right to decent housing and I dont mean city shelters.
I see your point. How about decent housing for those who are homelless?
