Bahraini police killed 5 people and arrested 286 at a sit-in outside the home of the kingdom's leading Shi'a cleric who risks deportation. This comes 2 days after Trump said he wouldn't "strain" Bahrain-US relations. Should the US condemn the attack?

The monarchy always claims its enemies are terrorists or fifth columnists, but it's rarely true. The onus should be on Bahrain to prove that these people were terrorists and not innocent protestors.

The protestors were defending, not attacking the Shi'a cleric. Isa Qassim has been accused of promoting extremism, corruption, and being an Iranian fifth columnists by the government, which has stripped him of his citizenship, fined him, and given him a one year suspended jail sentence. Did he do these things? Probably not, but he definitely defended pro-democracy protestors being killed by the government since the 2011 Arab Spring.
