Deep state: a body of people, typically influential members of government agencies or the military, believed to be involved in the secret manipulation or control of government policy. - do you believe it exists?
Isn't that our government now? Not much of a secret.
I do not believe that it is that secret and when the term "deep state" is used I think it may be considered conspiracy for referring to one dimension "evil" conspirators attempting to cause chaos. Indisputably, there are many big business interests that have a lot to gain from constant disturbance in foreign countries, supporting the fed, and a Keynesian economic policy. And economic gain is rarely bluntly stated as the primary justification for these pursuits. We go to war to "fight for democracy." This message is propagated by briefings, aides close to the president, lobbyists, news organizations, and is adopted by politicians or the president who use it as justifications for war. I think there are few individuals that openly admit to themselves that they are causing chaos and the only reason is to achieve short term economic gain.
Trumpkins wetting the bed over the "deep state" remind me of the hyenas in the Lion King when they say "Mufasa" to each other just to scare themselves. 😂😂😂
Perhaps the "deep state" protects itself by gathering incriminating evidence against those they wish to manipulate. For example, a junket to a Caribbean island owned by a rich convicted sex criminal where the junketeers are secretly taped having sex with girls of questionable legal age. That would never happen, would it...🤔? An investigation of these kinds of happenings by an honest non deep state AG might get a lot of people scrambling to protect themselves...🤔
I'm skeptical about conspiracy theories.
Doesn't mean it's untrue but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence to be believable.
Only in the minds of adult children.
Nothing conspiratorial or secret about it. Our state is controlled by money and resources.
This theory is much more involved than that
J Edgar Hoover proved the effectiveness of that tactic and remained in office for years, even though he liked to wear dresses. I am sure that many bureaucrats, seeing the effectiveness of his tactics, chose to emulate him. That probably doesn't apply to dresses, although I have never lived in a Washington DC suburb.
Politics is truly swayed greatly by forces outside of elected government. If this is "conspiracy" or "not true," we have waged many pointless wars for absolutely no reason which would be rather absurd thinking. We get in stupid wars for bad reasons, not no reason. And to think that unelected bureaucrats, lobbyists, think tanks, economists, and especially large corporations do not play a major role in shaping US policy is simply missing out on a big piece of the puzzle. Deep State simply refers to these influences that seem to carry US policy towards its destructive and often aimless endeavors.
