Its three in the morning and someone rings your doorbell, Do you answer it?
In the detective novels I read, people who look through the peephole get shot in the eye. I hope real life isn't the same.
Um, no. That's why I wouldn't stand in front of the door. (Off to one side, there would be no way for them to shoot through the wall, because the door's in a corner.)
I don't have a doorbell, but if someone knocked & I heard it... Yeah. I'd approach the door & ask who was there.
Yes, gun in hand, or at least holstered.
Hence approaching silently.... Colt 1911 in hand, thumb riding the safety, 200 lumen tac-light at the ready......
Is that what you want Susan??? Is that what you want?!?!? Hahah!
Same here.... Approaching silently and peering through the peephole and reading the person standing there. Then I decide from there what action to take.
Cautiously. I live in a keyed-access building so really only my neighbors, landlord, and law enforcement can get in.
I guess if it's night & there's no light on your side of the door, they won't notice when you put your eye to the peephole. I wasn't planning to go near the thing, myself, but it would be good to remember that.
Im asleep and cant answer it
