Does your state have any kind of law against cyberbullying?

Yes, and they're very strict. www.stopbullying.gov/laws/new-york.html
Cuomo signed them into law in July of last year.

Cyber bullying is also easy to stop, change email address, block a user, or just don't friend them in the first place

Are all California residents ill-informed?

At least you looked it up. Most people only care about social issues, do you think people of CA as a general whole lack the intelligence to stay informed in what is actually important?

No - I think the people of California - just like everywhere else care about what touches their lives. I am 44 years old and have no children. So, while I despise cyber bullying, and assumed by forward looking state had a law against it

I had not actually taken the time to find out. You see California, unlike most states, is what is called a "code pleading" state. Which means we have to have a law making something legal, while in other state you have laws making them illegal.

So while your education code is likely 30 or so pages ours is far too big to print out, it must be searched. It is difficult to stay abreast of all laws in California. As a whole, I would say we have a politically knowledgeable and active people

Wow that seems so backwards to me do you think "code pleading" is practical or more effective? It seems to limit freedoms

I'm not sure it limits freedoms - we are a pretty liberal state (except where I live - the reddest county in California, and I'm the Democratic Committee Vice Chair) but it slows things down and confuses people

I've worked in education for 20 years and STILL have to search education code (Community College thus the reason I wasn't aware of the cyber bullying sections) from time to time. My boss is new to California education and Ed Code makes him crazy

I respect your judgement, but are you saying that democrats install more freedoms than republicans?

I live in California - so I'm sure we do - but I'll go look it up

Looked it up - we do - the laws are in the education code and put requirements on the schools for education and prevention
