Gender roles have more: made me feel limited OR made me feel like I have a place
Neither. I just don't care.. I do what I want.
Traditional gender roles would be limiting to me. I'm a driven person with interests outside of homemaking and childcare. I participate in sports, my career interests are in fields traditionally dominated by men, and I have no desire to cling to tradition for the sake of tradition, without evaluating if it's what I want or what is best for me.
I believe my place in society is as a compassionate, hard-working individual. Not as a traditional woman.
Well, I don't limit myself based on gender roles, but I used to. They are generally much more restrictive and limiting to people, in general.
Never thought about them until all the whining started
I don't really think about it too much either way.
It's a non-issue.
For my generation limiting. I did the same job as a man and was paid less because I was a woman. With a man it was called orderly with the woman it was called nurses aid.
It doesn't cross my mind.
A good guideline my ancestors followed.
I don't feel like gender roles affect me directly, in regard to sense of identity, but overall, it seems to be more limiting
Other people tended to limit me more than I did myself. I've mostly worked in male-dominated fields, and had to know what I was doing before I got much credit.
Agree, the roles haven't necessarily limited me all that much because I choose to go against many.. but if I were to have to take them seriously, I would think them to be extremely limiting.
