When I was a kid. Me, my brother and my mom were eating lunch at the dinning room table and heard noises from upstairs. My mom asked me, being the oldest, to check it out. I climbed the stair case and when I got to the landing I saw the whole second floor in flames. It was started by an electrical

Stopped it quickly, but could have been trouble.

Short in the attic. Gutted the whole second floor. Then my grandpa and my uncles restored the house and me and brother got new bedrooms and a play room.

7 yrs ago on Valentines Day. Lost my mom and everything I owned, but the clothes on my back. Due to my father rigging a new dryer motor on a dryer they no longer made parts for. Didn't rebuild cause it just didn't feel right.

No, alhamdullilah. However a portion of my state is on fire because it so dry, may Allah bless the families that are going through that.

Haha you are blaming PETA for a home fire? Your funny!

Threaten. We had to evacuate, but the fire ended up not really getting close to our house.

Ours was kind of threatened. A transformer exploded and we could easily see the flames from our house. But it didn't really have a chance of getting to us.

Yes, we were taken out of the apartment by firemen when I was five. I still remember my pregnant mother coming down the ladder. My dads friend was smoking in bed in a neighboring apartment. Probably
explains why fire is one of my biggest fears.

no but my dumbass sister burned down her apartment while she was drunk..she passed out while smoking in bed.. my mom had a fire in her house when she was a kid..count? but it doesn't affect me..

No, but a friend just lost theirs to fire. It is a painful experience to witness let alone happen directly.

You could say it's been threatened a few times. Car on fire in the driveway (faulty wiring on a new part), fish on fire in the oven, popcorn on fire on the stove, yeah… Glad we have fire extinguishers. Without those it would have been bye-bye to the house(s). Not to mention plenty of false alarms…

My mom accidentally set our house on fire twice when I was a kid. Once, grease on the stove that she forgot about and once by leaving beehives (of all things) on top of the wood stove, then starting a fire. Whew! What childhood memories!

Neighbors house burned down. Fire department had to keep a couple on our house to keep it from catching fire. Did a good job of saving our house. Not so much for the neighbors though.

Yep. Exactly one year ago yesterday. Lost everything. Four in the morning. Couldnt even go into the house to see the damage. Rebuilt though.

I live in Colorado Springs where there is a fire that burned down 7,000 acres of Colorado springs. There is smoke everywhere and 32,000 people evacuated.

No and hoping never to have to experience it.

06/29/12 12:14 pm

Luckily never happened to me, but some of my friends house burnt down in college a few months ago. None of them were home, thankfully, but they literally lost everything.

06/29/12 12:14 am

Well, I'm thinking there is a good chance America is the next modern day babylon, so eventually we will all be consumed by fire.

06/29/12 12:17 am

It's actually a good question: being consumed by water or fire? I would say water. And that's just for the hearts of men.

Our actions are far more abominable.
