Should S.C.O.T.U.S. Justices be Elected by The People or President?
They aren't elected by the president. They are appointed after confirmation and no, I don't want them voted in. That makes the process more political then it already is and I don't think it would help.
The president only proposes. A select congressional committee approves (or doesn't) the submitted candidate. Therefore the will of the people is satisfied.
Casey, the President appoints the SCOTUS, then the Congress approves of the appointment. The President and Congress are elected to represent the American public.
Should be as Constitution established, which is neither option offered.
