Mumbai: Rounding up consenting adults, hauling them off to jail, making them call their parents(regardless of age), and having to pay a fine because they were unmarried and allegedly engaging in sexual relations. Replace Mumbai with US.
I hope this is all red. Though I'm worried some conservative culture warrior presidential campaign will like this idea
Lol, I can only imagine how most American parents would react. "Let me talk to the police. Hi, officer, what is your name and whom do I sue for return of my tax dollars for incompetence?"
This only works if people are already ashamed of sex.
Texas or Tennessee, maybe.
Mumbai. One of the first places that comes to mind when imagining how bad we have it here and how much better it is in other places. Not.
I hate Mumbai but...this would make people here crazy. I can't see how they were legally arrested... India isn't that backward, is it?
Mumbai = armpit of the planet.
Just super religious conservative.
D w BB d w BB BB in an unperson with doubleplusthoughtcrimes
I attend the two minutes hate and everything?!?
It's those damn neighbor kids. They ratted me out...
This is concerning that some of the right leaning politicians could possibly get behind this. One or two come to mind.
He or Huckabee. Maybe Santorum.
From what I know, it seems India is socially becoming more and more progressive, but some of the government and police force still use old-fashioned mentality. Also there's a lot of corruption; the police are bought off to do raids, look away, etc.
I'm thinking Walker or Cruz
1984 hasn't come to complete fruition, yet,
I'm one of the most conservative and Christ loving people on this app, but this doesn't make sense for the government to control.
No small government candidate would support something as crazy as that. It doesnt make any sense
Lol. Can you imagine getting a call from your 40 year old son?
The whole current Republican herd, except Trump. Maybe why he's leading in the polls.
Perry is rumored to be closing up shop.
I could totally see this happening in California or New York with "affirmative consent" prohibitions.
I could see that too. Maybe Jindal and Perry as well.
If they actually favor small government
I wasn't aware that either of those states were considering affirmative consent prohibitions, but if they did, then sure.
Honesty, I think the only one not favoring a theocratic leaning GOP is Trump. MAYBE Paul, but he tends to claim libertarianism while acting like q social conservative
I think it would never pass here but if you get someone in who completely wants to control others by doing what they think they have a divine mandate to do, then maybe.
I wondering why those in favor don't make a case for this.
I'd hope not.
I'm really looking for a religious moderate out of the current group. One not willing to turn the country toward his beliefs. I was really hoping that would be the case this time.
