Do you know how to surf?
Yup! Not very good at it but the few times I was successful it was amazing!
Besides Venice where I live, I really like Newport and San Clemente
Only on the Internet.
No those are too big for me haha. I learned how to surf on one of those, though. I prefer shortboards.
Why yes, yes I do. I grew up in SoCal.
It took me a while to be able to ride any kind of board. Haha. But I've been surfing since I was really little. It's a requirement in my family haha. I'm currently riding a 6'2" epoxy pin tail board. I love it
My brother and I both still live with our dad who also grew up surfing here. Who knows where I'll go after college but I'll need to be on the coast
Tressles, T street, the Wedge, Salt Creek, Doheny (before they built the marina) and for body surfing I always preferred Boomers in SD. Can't surf anymore, knees replaced, no balance but I do body surf when I get out to the coast 3-4 times a year.
Woo hoo! Do you have a favorite spot?
I liked those spots, too. Sunset & Huntington were my favorites, they were closest.
Yes, but where it's really at is skimboarding.
Skimming is fun
Huntington has been too packed with shoobies every time I've gone. I need to go there in the winter
Just doesn't give me the same rush tho
I want to learn
You're braver than I am. I tried the short board and went right back to the long. I used to have a 9 foot Harbour board that I just loved!
Nice! My folks aren't beach people, but my brothers & I all are. We used to get up together in the morning & go. Now we're grown, mostly married with kids, and live out of state. I like to come home. I taught my 8 yr old how to body surf last time.
Never been around an ocean long enough to learn
Why did I start hearing "Surfing USA" when I read this poll?
Definitely the better time to go. I like Sunset because it's so quiet, pretty much year round. Longboard?
I don't know how. I'm sure I wouldn't have the strength, agility or balance. But, when I was in Florida last month, I loved *watching* the surfers. They are awesome!
