Do you approve or disapprove of teenagers being locked into adult prisons with the general population?

People under the age of 18 do not belong with adults. In fact, I feel somewhat sorry for the 18 and 19 year olds going in. They are prime meat to the older guys.

I might approve. A seventeen year old murderer convicted as an adult, you bet. A fourteen year old car thief, no.

I think it depends on the crime. If it's murder, I feel less sympathy for the criminal.

Perhaps the 18 & 19 year olds should have thought about that before the act.

There really are not words harsh enough to describe what we do to kids in this country.

That's only a myth and not true. Children of all ages are tried and put in adult facilities.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

If they felt adult enough to commit the crime they shouldn't whine when they do the time

Do you want the to vote, smoke pot, drink, all the adult things? Then it's fine.

Of course. 18 is just a number people made up as the age of adulthood. If a 15 year old commits murder, he needs to face the consquences of his actions the same as a 35 year old.

Much younger than 18 year olds are in adult prisons.

When you say teenagers, do you mean the eligible 18 and over? If not, they would be put in Juvie.

Yeah, make a stupid kid roommates with a career criminal. His time in prison will DEFINITELY shape him into a more suitable member of society.

If they are tried as adults, sure.

Disapprove. A lot of those teenagers are naive and in over their heads. They'll probably end up becoming "harder" criminals in an adult prison, when they could easily be rehabilitated. Which will end them up in prison again. It's a vicious cycle.

There are tons of articles online to read about the subject.

It would depend on what they are "in" for.
