Was Moses a Christian?
Special thanks to my historian friend cowboy, who taught me something new today!
There were NO Christians before Christ was crucified.
The only kind of person who would believe something this stupid is someone who will like their own comments every time they post
Cowboy, society had law long before we created God in our own image and likeness.
About as much a Christian as my left foot is a hamsteak
No, Moses was a Jew. Jesus was not even conceived in the time of Moses.
Cowboy let me know that until Moses was given the Ten Commandments, everyone was murdering all the dang time! But then they stopped. So I should be grateful to Christians, otherwise I too would be murdered.
Wrong! You need to take Professor Cowboy's history class, I'm afraid.
Yeah cowboy, we need to thank Christian Moses that no one ever commits murder anymore
If everyone was murdering everyone, how did anyone manage to survive?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ancient_legal_codes -- LOTS of law.
Similarly, Aquinas' arguments regarding natural law are based on some fundamental assumptions about what 'nature' means that are pretty easy to argue with, so that's hardly an ironclad source. tinyurl.com/mv7qjuj
Great. Now we need a pic of your left foot to find out.
Nope. He was an Israelite by heritage and an Egyptian by birth. Neither Islam nor Christianity existed at the time, and as the Kingdom of Judah had not yet been established, he could not be considered Jewish either.
Kermie seems to think that without moral legislation, humans wouldn't murder each other. That society would, without law, behave themselves, which is absurd.
There's no simple answer to that because it gets into ideas regarding the trinity. My thought is that Moses was a Jew because of his relation to Abraham and because Christ had not yet been brought into this world to deliver the new word of God.
Kermie-on the epic rap battle video, Moses is black... I thought it was cool, mainly because he destroyed Santa
Which poll was this? I've got to see this!
You called Moses a Christian, Kermie. I never did. Lol
Wrong! Moses was a good-looking white man, just like Jesus and Santa. Muslims are not white people.
I wrote it with a stylus on a Kindle Fire.
I'm all for anarchy. I say bring it on. Kermie wouldn't last very long though, so he better thank God our founders followed his law.
People murdered before and after the Ten Commandments. The Commandments simply codified moral laws that were already written in people's hearts.
But since people are bad we break the law all of the time.
I think you'd have a very hard time convincing anyone with a brain that there's evidence of God existing before humans starting writing things down. Especially when the name Yahweh, in it's first recorded iterations, was a place name, not a god.
It's funny that Sharia Law is in there...
I thought the islam started on the 6th century.
You people are really screwed up!
This is an honest question, doesn't Christian teaching hold that Jesus is/was eternal? Or was that misrepresented to me or am I misinterpreting?
Aran: The idea of God goes back to well before recorded history.
cowboy: I agree that's preposterous. A man-made law contrary to natural law is unjust and invalid. Aquinas fleshes out that issue.
There is no Christian or Jewish Heaven. And Hell will contain Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists and even a lot of people who go to church every Sunday, sing in the choir and call themselves Christians.
"Professing THEMSELVES to be wise, THEY became FOOLS" Romans 1:22.
Anyone with a brain? Like archeologists and anthropologists? There is clear evidence of primitive man performing burial rituals that imply belief in an afterlife. You're clearly so biased by your worldview that you're overlooking obvious facts.
What do you mean? I never said that Moses was a Christian. Kermie did.
You called him a Christian, I didn't. Lol
And the idea of natural law and an objective good comes from countless philosophers. Aquinas is just one.
How do you know all of this?
That's what you take away... Lol. You're soooo funny. What a child.
What was your original point, cowboy? I'm interested to hear.
No, dufus. OBVIOUSLY he was a Mulsim. palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=6716
Darwin. Heard of him?
Ah but Kermie's point was that laws don't have to be moral. That people would just behave themselves. Which is nonsense.
He was an Egyptian.
People were indeed SAVED before Christ. Ephesians 1:4-5. How were they saved without Christ? Ephesians 2:8-8. They were saved "by GRACE" through their FAITH. They same way we are SAVED in 2014.
It's just too funny. And cowboy says I'm crazy. Lol.
Purgatory is not mentioned in the Bible and was a concept of the Catholic Church. If you paid the church enough money, they could PRAY you out of Purgatory which is not Scriptural and is one of the reasons for Martin Luther's REFORMATION.
Where are they storing all these dead souls? Purgatory? Do the saved go to heaven immediately or are they in the waiting room too? How are those prior to Christ getting to heaven without living knowledge of the savior?
