Has technology been taken a wee bit to far when a doctor is suspended for sexting during surgery?
oh good gravy, no that would def be worse!
Not technology itself, but rather society's obsession with it.
Maybe I'm just the squeamish type, but who thinks about sex with a guy's inners hanging out on a table in front of you?
Forget the content of the texting. Problem is he was the anesthesiologist. The supreme commander in the OR Suite. He should have no distractions. Texting about lunch, shopping or sex are all unacceptable.
This user is currently being ignored
Technology has nothing to do with it. There's so many things wrong with that kind of behavior, but possessing a cell phone isn't one of them. No one would say technology gone too far in the OR with the da Vinci.
"Hmmm... That spleen makes me feel kinda... I'll be right back. Gotta take care of something...."
Don't get it either.
At least he finally got laid. Laid Off!!
Um.......open your mouth and say ahh.....while I try to find myself a Russian wife.
No, it's the irresponsibility of some people that is the problem. In the old days, maybe he'd have taken a quick look at a Hustler magazine. - You can do stupid things with smart phones.
lol...oops, sorry! ;)
It's not the technology that makes people stupid, it's people. Just like guns don't kill people, people kill people. It's the same premise with technology. Common sense is an uncommon virtue in today's society.
I'm really hoping you mean texting.
No. People made bad choices long before technology was here to help them.
I couldn't agree more with you on that.
nope, it was sexting. blech.
but that's no fun! you can't blame PEOPLE! /s. ;-)
He would have to get a cute nurse and put her under the operating table...then you would hear moans throughout the surgery.
It seems like without the tech to keep him entertained in a harmless way, he'd have gone old school and would have been having actual sex during surgery. Maybe not worse, just different.
Surgeons have been assholes in surgery forever.
Calls em like I sees em.
There are so many things wrong with this story. First off - isn't the OR a sterile environment - was this a one time incident or several because nurses should have reported sooner. Second he is lucky none of these babies or mothers were killed
Under his watch. Third totally creeps me out that he liked "looking" thru their files. Fourth - forget suspension - he should lose his license immediately.
right?! talk about a mood killer.
