HeSaidNOLA asked: Should privatization of prisons be illegal in the U.S.?
Privatization of prisons intending towards a form of indented servitude with private corporations as the beneficiaries. Crime should be prosecuted and punished by the government alone.
Taking away a citizen's freedom and removing him/her from society is a serious endeavor. It should not be a for profit industry. These are Americans, and it's their lives we're discussing.
They are out to make money. Prisons get money from the incarceration of people. So they pay off judges to sentence longer and worse charges on people, among other ways to get more people incarcerated.
Absolutely. Ban em.
I don't like it. What people forget when they advocate privatization, is that profit will be made, and that profit comes at public expense. Another word for profit in that context is "waste". Money spent for zero benefit.
Privatization does not work.
High recidivism also helps them, so they certainly aren't going to help the convicts reform their ways and become productive members of society.
I don't like privatization of any kind.
good lord my phone, but mostly good lord to me for typing too fast and hitting before all the words appeared...
HeSaidNOLA is my dad! Y'all should follow him!
Have put up a comment to find him easier.
Or better yet, just forward us his polls
Banned, no. Used frequently, I'm not so sure.
It shouldn't be illegal, but it should be done either.
Not illegal, but states are stupid that use them.
It probably the app & not you. I write stuff on here & as I post the words will change. You'll notice lots of ridiculous mistakes on here. It's this app I tell you!
If people don't want to go to prison, DON'T do the crime.
Persvd-in many cases, i'd agree. In this, I can't. If prisons become/continue to act as a business, we are screwed
Haha I'm glad I lightened up your day! I do what I can. Lol
Completely off topic but your name makes me very happy lol FOLLOWED!
These people violated crimes against the state or nation and should be punished by the same.
Sorry. I misread the question and thought you were saying the reverse
Whoa. De JA vu. I'll agree and say this again: "quit trying to legislate ever aspect of life!".
His poll closed before I got a chance to share it. I wanted to!
