Should parents/legal guardians of a minor be released of all liability when the said minor is charged as an adult for a crime?

Can't excuse everything with an underdeveloped neocortex. Most kids do not plan murder for months. If the brain isn't completely developed doesn't mean they are unable of rational thought. This isn't about reckless driving but premeditated murder.

The thing that gets me here is the degree of pre-meditation. This wasn't just kids being dumb, they thought about the best and easiest way to do it for months.

unless your are going to emancipate the child completely, then the parents must be involved. but something like this isn't negligence, this is something seriously wrong with the child. I just don't understand what's happening with youth sometimes.

reasoning, thinking and rationality, is not fully developed until the age of 25. So especially with twelve year olds I just don't feel right about or support that. I know I'm in the minority here but I don't feel at all good about that.

Good lord, what a mess up article! Those 2 girls need serious medical help for an extended period of time. And no, the parents aren't to blame.
