Would you sacrifice your principles for safety?
I voted no, but I'm a pragmatist, not a zealot. It depends on what principle and what is meant by safety.
Probably some of them. I have a son - one of my principles is keeping him safe. :)
^^ This. As a parent, I'm prepared to sacrifice just about anything -- not for my safety, though that would be nice, but for my kid's.
Yes. As much as I'd like to say no, realistically I can't.
Depends if I still consider it an important enough principal when confronted with death.

defense against immediate danger is not sacrificing principles
as I said above, defense against an immed danger is not sacrificing principles, regardless if it's you or a child
