Men: Do you work in a traditionally female-dominated profession (or are you a stay-at-home dad?)
Did you read the number of writings released by each of the authors in recent years combined with sales? It's not as heavily one-sided. I really don't care either way.
Anyway, what kind of writing do you do?
Yeah, I wouldn't consider writing a female-dominated profession. It certainly wasn't for quite a few centuries.
Did the stay at home for about 2 years, then the wife took over. enjoyed it though.
work as a chef, and be while not all men it is mostly.
However I also have a small catering company and I find that most of the catering chefs are females.
I can't answer this. I'm a postal worker. You have to be human first.
Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Twilight, Divergent, all written by women.
9 men and 6 women on that article, and most of the women are nowadays authors and half of the men got famous in the mid-late 20th century.
Actually, all of the women are current, thus, establishing my point. Also, that is the richest, meaning who earned more over their historical career. I specifically stated nowadays who is making more on books released this past decade, and given
the tiles username provided, I still think women make more *nowadays* (in writing)
No, I work in a heavily male-dominated industry, and many actively work to keep it that way.
Which industry is that?
Same here. If that.
Finance and trading.
General business, really.
It's not widespread, but there are still some who actively believe only men are fit to perform their duties.
I thought you were a full-time student lol
By credits, yes (any student over 12 credits is considered such), but I work full-time, also.
W00t! First blue vote! I'm a stay at home dad AND I work (from home) in a traditionally female-dominated profession (writing, though a brief Google indicates that the notion of writing as a female-dominated profession isn't universally accepted.)
Nowadays I would say it is, though.
I'd say it's about even.
The highest grossing lean slightly towards males, but you may be correct in the overall. I'll have to looking more into it.
I'd say females are the highest grossing. Most male authors are authors of independent, less popular series and novels, whereas YA fiction, arguably the most prevalent and profitable genre today, is dominated by women.
My profession is most definitely female dominated. 5% of us are male in my regional conferences.
