Seriously? You don’t think your parents are smart enough to know their own minds? Do you honestly believe they think whatever the news tells them to think? I realize that is an often repeated refrain from the left—that Fox News tells its viewers what to think. Hogwash! They don’t tell their viewers what to think any more than, if as much as do CNN, MSNBC, and the major networks. It’s so disrespectful to keep repeating that nonsense and pretending that everyone is so stupid that they can’t think for themselves and listen to the news that tends to espouse their own views.
It’s the left leaning media that has the same talking points every single day. Funny how that happens.

I don’t know that I could ever be MORE conservative than my parents were; yet, I will appreciate them eternally for the foundation that the rest of my life has been built upon.

My Mom has turned to the dark side over the years. I blame that on her staying in an area that has turned deep blue from red. I take after my Father almost 100%. Conservative isn’t the right label though, the best I can come up with is constitutional conservative with some libertarian leanings. All the males in the family kinda follow that script. Probably comes from being a western ranching family - let me be and I’ll let you be (to an extent)

My parents were Blue Dog Democrats which is now what the Republican Party is today. I consider myself socially liberal, I don’t care what you do, just don’t shove it down my throat and I’m fiscally conservative
I also believe that many of us don’t just want corrupt Democrats and RINOs removed from office.
We want them prosecuted.

My dad was a Catholic conservative Democrat my mother was a liberal Republican... there is an aspect of me that is more liberal and an aspect that is more conservative. I am a product of my parents.

My mother was a welfare queen, addicted to free stuff. If not from the government then 70% of my paper route money. Didn’t mind giving, but resented her entitlement mentality. So of course i saw value in the conservative realm of politics.

Parents were Socialists until the mid-50s when they became Liberals. By the 60s my father became a moderate. By the 70s he was a Republican. Reagan was his first smart vote. He confided that to me knowing I was a lifelong Conservative, and his neighbors and friends were still Liberals.

I grew up in a Liberal vote Democrat household. After high school I decided to be an Independent. I want the candidates to work for my vote. Having said that I'm probably a moderate Conservative as my parents were. But the Dem party has moved radical left which has pushed me further right. I just wish we all could go back to middle of the road parties.

My parents were democrats first. My mom became a Republican and voted for Reagan. It took my dad a long time to make the switch. He enthusiastically voted for Trump twice.

I’m neither I hate both parties so much both are the same thing as well at this point the right is what the left always wanted. The left shifted the Overton window so far with women’s rights and the welfare state the right had to shift left too. Conservatives never conserved anything. Egalitarian policies of the left are embraced by the right after all this time and a different normal is what governs society. Trad cons and purse holding fags on the right are just as bad as the woke libtards of the left too

I am by no means liberal but I remember when desegregation was happening in the 60's, I went toe to toe with them, and because they really did want to be Christian, they couldn't really argue with me.

Depends. Is it conservative to think genocide in Palestine is wrong? I would think most of the time my parents and I are on the same page, but then again, all they do is watch the news being told how to feel.

During COVID the anchors were afraid of what was happening and made it look like the world was coming to an end, which resulted them into panic buying. I however didn’t think it was such a huge deal to be inside for two weeks. In fact, I thought the whole mask wearing thing was kind of silly, until it was required. I keep saying “Do your research and stop listening to the news.”

Both parents were conservatives, my mother a conservative Christian. Of the six of us children, only two remained conservative. My dad was calling for us to turn the Middle East into an ashtray in the early 80's.

My parents, like most French seniors, slowly drifted towards the Front National. I am more of a Gaullist.

Unfortunately, there is no party left in France that truly implement the General's ideology.
Macron rather is a sneaky, hypocritical socialist populist combo with weak connections to the center right and strong influences from the left. It is very noticeable in Macron's leniency towards the unions, his schemes to grab private money and imprison political adversaries, and his complacency towards the Islamic hegemony in progress.
All American governments, whether Republican or Democrats, stand to the right of that...

Colorado has been overrun by California progressives over the past 25 years to the point that the character of the state is more like LA/San Fran now. We had some neighbors move in across the street and went to welcome them to the neighborhood. When they said they moved from LA, my wife and I both gave each other the side eye. The next words out of his mouth “but we definitely aren’t those type of Californians”. Poor guy didn’t want that label and went out of his way to show everyone he could out conservative anybody in our small conservative town
