Abortion rights are my deal breaker. Have been since I was a teen and did a research paper on the subject. Outlawing abortion will not stop them, it will only lead to a rise in death rates of the women that seek them, and overburden an already overburdened healthcare system.

I’m kidding. Abortion is a deal breaker. 60 million legal abortions in the US since Roe v. Wade makes my stomach turn. It has to stop.

For me it’s really three main issues.
Belief in the welfare state ie socialised healthcare and medicine, good disability benefits, programmes such as food stamps, etc.
A simple foreign policy. No wars unless absolutely necessary.
Separation of church and state. I do not want anyone’s religion, to be the driving force in policy making. Those two should stay as far apart as possible.

That’s an interesting take. My question is, if we decriminalize robbery, or fraud, or murder do you think the rates would fall?

Abortion. The amount of mental gymnastics it takes to come to the conclusion that a fetus isn’t a person or alive is just so great, no one with that belief will ever have a discussion on good faith.

I have two: freedom from religion (I won’t let someone insist I believe in anything) and the right to what happens to my body, to an extent. Antivaxers are dangerous, but abortion (up to a certain point) is up to the woman.

Abortion and economic policy.
Anyone who supports the (racist) killing of infants across the world is abhorrent to me. Look up Sanger and planned parenthoods' effects on black population.
Economic policy is another deal breaker. If you're alive in 2020 with access to the internet and public libraries and still believe climate change isn't real, then you have something wrong with your brain.

National Voter ID requirements.
There must be....
Verification of Identity (Drivers License), verification of citizenship(like a passport) and verification of residence(no double voting). Yes, we should ask these questions at the polls. Anyone that disagrees wants to cheat and is stupid.

Politicians who try to legislate their morals on others. The biggest being religion. Leave your religion out of my life. This leads to less freedom for individuals.

I’m gay myself. It’s something I forget is still debated in the US. Here in the UK the Conservative Party were the majority and passed the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013.
Only Northern Ireland fought against it, but even they have it there now.
I hope the US will join the majority of the western world and stop allowing it to be a political issue. It’s should be a human right.

My candidate of choice should be pro choice. You can argue when life begins all you want but I draw the line at if another humans life/well being is at steak. Otherwise forced blood donations and forced organ transplants should be law, even if it is against the host body's will to save another life.

2nd amendment rights. Growing up in the south I have been a round guns my entire life and I believe that the 2nd amendment is important especially in a political climate that is trying to take the right to bear arms away.
