Make art. Any kind... painting, music, literature. Don’t even worry if it’s bad. Just get it out of your system.

If physically capable and if you have the time take up Thru Hiking. Challenging, invigorating to the mind and body, allows you to see a lot of the country few people ever really see and we’ve thousands of miles of blazed trails to hike. The gear isn’t expensive, under $800 dollars I spent on the gear I’ll take to Trail this year and it’s the same gear I’ve carried on more than 3000 miles of trekking so far.

Get into magic. My little nephew likes to watch the Carbonaro effect on tv. So one day I bought a pack of magic sponge balls and learned how to manipulate them and make them disappear. I had fun learning and teaching that to my nephew. I even ordered more tricks to learn. It’s kinda fun to the smooth with your hands lol. Great to show off at parties and shorts and an ice breaker to talk with new people.

Can you draw? Practice drawing and painting. I’ve gotten quite good and can do quick sketches of people. I’ve even done a quick sketch at a resultant of my waiter on a napkin. They loved it. lol. Another fun thing to bust out and surprise people with is fun sketches.

Redo things. Go to garage sales and pick up an old bike or an old table or something to redo. Get artsy and craft and have fun redoing things.

Depending on what you like, I recommend learning some new recipes! Cooking or baking or really anything. Being a girl I love to knit and sew and bake but I’m not sure about anyone else. I like volunteering, I find it very rewarding :))

Geo-cacheing

It’s where you “hunt” for things or solve virtual crimes using forms to find planted items. Some are social, where you can add stuff. Single people snd groups do it. Heard it’s a lot of fun, from the SOHers who do it. I’d like to try it too.

Don't know if you play guitar, but if not, there's an app called Simply Guitar. It's free, easy to use, and interactive. I've owned a guitar for 10 years, never played a single note. I downloaded the app last week and my guitar knowledge it now 4/10. It's awesome.

It’s hard to share a hobby with you without knowing what you’re interested in. If you do social media, I would follow a few people or groups involved with your interests. If it gets you excited, you know you’re there. If not, it’s okay to default to your current favorites. For me, at the moment, it’s desserts. Before, it was second language.

I answered that way one time in a poll like this, saying that I would be bored stiff and probably fall asleep. I think it was @rons that told me about fly fishing which is totally different. Rons?

Thank you for welcoming me. I am from the US, but now live in the UK. It is a truly amazing place to be, and a lot going on over here currently. Rather exciting and interesting to be here during the height of it all.

@UKGuy
You might consider 3D wood Carving using a 3D router & computer software. You could start small for less than 1/30th of the cost of the Polo pony, suggested by @GlockMan1 or less than $5k.
The links below are a few of the 3D pieces I have done.

I used to be really into photography. Although, I found that getting the camera, the different lenses and editing programmes to come up to quite a bit financially. I definitely would like to get back into it though. Need to find good places here in the UK to do so.

playing a musical instrument but i'm very biased, honestly i think any kind of art form is a great hobby but it's not for everyone, this can be music, art, writing, cooking, singing or anything in between
