Thought you knew.
I’m in the final stage of a type of leukemia called myelofibrosis. My bone marrow is replacing healthy cells with nonproductive fiber and the effect is easy bruising, free bleeding, and very low energy. My oncologist reminds me of how very much I’ve outlived expectations, and I’m grateful for that. The chemo treatments are not helping. At 81 I’m fine with it. Because of an NDE I live both by faith and by sight. I am sorry that this will result in my wife going into as assisted living facility, but with her personality she’ll be okay. Didn’t mean to be so long winded about it, but thought your inquiry deserved it.

Thank each of you for your dear responses, but I’m just milking this a little. I’ve not exaggerated anything but since I’ve exceeded expectations thus far, I really don’t know if it’ll be this week or this quarter. And I will get my wife to tell you goodbye.
🎼Don’t cry for me SOH friends. The distant glimpse of heaven I had as an atheist, assures me of the love that waits.

What I have can turn into leukemia. I’ll know more in about three or four weeks when testing is done. It’s so nice. It’s so comforting to know that we will someday meet.

Myelofibrosis.

I appreciate our discussions mark and wish you well. Even if we can't agree on some things. I've learned a lot from you. Mostly vocabulary, like the word numinous. But also some deep insights. And I'm realizing I'm not called to teach some of the things I've learned about God to older people, respectfully. Older people have beliefs about God that have served them well, and some of the things I'm suggesting are difficult to reconcile with these beliefs, and can be upsetting. I'm aware of that, and I should be more careful. My calling seems to be more about teaching younger people these concepts.
I appreciate your perspective in death. It's cool that you aren't afraid. You shouldn't be. I'll say a prayer for you and your wife.
