I would trust well programmed robots more than human border guards.
Lack of human emotions and irrational temperament would probably lead to less physical and sexual abuse of illegals.

UAVs offer far more surveillance coverage than a humanoid robot for significantly less cost and a helical drive ground vehicle can navigate farther faster and in more difficult terrain than a humanoid robot while carrying a heavier load and at a lower cost.
The only reason for a humanoid robot is if you want it to look like a person, which isn’t handy here.
