I take a little break and come back to this news? That is horrible. Susan and I often didn’t see eye to eye, but she was a nice person and very helpful with SOH issues.

If I ever were to leave SOH, I’m sure my husband would say, “Well at least I don’t have to hear ‘Someone on Show of Hands said…’ anymore!
It’s been a wild ride. These posts are starting to feel like an obit for SOH. I appreciate those here who are saying they will leave instructions to family members to let us know if something happens to them.

Aww. I didn't know we lost Rons, too. That's sad.
I'd tell people love is the answer, so they should to strive to love one another, especially when it's difficult.

I knew about Susan, but not about Ron. I’ve asked a few times about him. What I liked best about Rons, was his love for his wife, and his commitment to her. He was always so proud and complimentary of his wife. She was beautiful, AND she could chop wood. π

I had not heard that Rons passed. I had missed seeing him around for a while, but I’m so sad to hear he’s gone. π°
Susanr is sorely missed.
I would want my SOH family to know I appreciate your ability to educate me, to include me in your community, and the grace most have given me in our discussions. I value this group a lot, and would miss many that I consider friends.

I never looked at SHO as an extended family, until recently.. Tops, 4JC, you, can use prayers, Ron passing, many things have surfaced to make me think differently, about those that I respond to..I have one dem, Brings, that I like.
I believe this… Heaven is for real. Believer or not..I believe it’s a time when you get to see things are really beautiful around you…
You never noticed before….Enjoy.

Oh I’m gutted. I had no idea Susan had passed. I first met her on another forum before SOH even existed. Beautiful lady. I’ll cherish the memories.

I would say that I’m in a much better place and hope to one day see them there, as well. I would hope they would remember how I shared Jesus’ love with them and that He is God and died for them to give them better lives both here and in eternity! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ and ππ»ππ»ππ»

I’ve thought about giving the ole lady instructions to let the SOH community know if something happens to me. I don’t have any personal contact with any other users. I know I’d like to know why someone is absent. Idk….
I never expected to live this long, if you go by mu family tree I’m long over due for heart failure. I feel find, meds seem to be keeping ticket in check, but you never know.
I suppose I’ll have the talk with the ole lady n tell her to let y’all know. I’ll give her the names of all the good ones and the ones that can GTH too. lol π

Not much really. I've enjoyed talking to everyone. The debates over the years have evolved...minds slowly roll one way or another. It is always nice to get a new perspective on something you thought you had figured out. Even if it could be from the same side with different information or history.
Over the years I have realized that most arguments are not even worth the effort if you can't have them in person. It's just exhausting online sometimes. Social media, including SoH, is full of trolls... Sometimes the conversation is better than someone winning.

I would say—See ya, losers! I love all of you, even the ones I disagree with.
Just know, if I disappear, that I was sarcastic up until the last minute!

My heart breaks to hear about these two active SOH users. I almost felt like I knew Rons because he lived across the river from where I used to live in PA. We have had several conversations about the area.

I think if you are a frequent user here you should let someone in your family or a friend contact us in someway should something happen. Otherwise we all are just left wondering and worrying. After 13 years, this place has become part of my life.

Im saddened by the news of Ron. He and I lived on different ends of Jersey, but we had many of the same hobbies and interests….I always saw him as sort of a glimpse into my future if I ever made it past 65.

I did not know they passed. I am sorry. They were both interesting and Rons could be very funny (I didn’t interact with Susan enough but when I did, I enjoyed it).
I guess I would say I appreciate everyone I interact with and thank you for making this app interesting and often thought provoking.
May their memories be a blessing.

I’m sorry to hear of their passing. Both had many interesting & helpful comments, some of which I was not always in agreement, but who always made good cases for their points of view. I particularly enjoyed @Rons humor. Sad they are no longer with us.

I would want people to know that this app and knowing you all has truly impacted my life in a positive way. I feel blessed to have "met" so many people that I wouldn't have been able to without being on here. Some have become my friends in real life, and even those of you who aren't IRL are still my friends here and I'm better off for knowing you. I wish I'd done a better job of staying positive, kind, and empathetic and I'm sorry for not always being so.

I have a rule that I try hard to follow here - don't engage with rude people. I like engaging with people who disagree with me, as long as they can stay civil and respectful. Given my avoidance of rudeness, I have very little interaction with the fringe elements often found here. I appreciate all of you who can discuss a topic without tossing about insults.

I definitely am not a communist
I definitely am not a socialist
I am a capitalist who sees the value of integrating more socialism into our society specifically designed to help the middle class.
I am definitely not antisemitic
I am definitely not anti religion at all
I am an atheist who respects everyone’s religious beliefs but I am opposed to anyone’s religion being taught in our public schools.
I believe in the American Constitution
I believe we do have a representative democracy and I want to keep it
I oppose authoritarianism and autocracy and I see us sliding into an autocratic executive branch and I don’t see our Congress or our Supreme Court attempting to stop that from happening
I would like to see more sarcasm, satire and humor in our SOH threads and much less hate filled name calling and corrosive rhetoric.

I did not know that Ron’s had died. My brain just blanked out the guy in Washington. I’m afraid we lost him too. Zod. I would want everyone to know that I truly loved many people here. This app actually truly changed my life. I thought I was so worthless first place I really felt appreciated and valued.
I would want people to know that my faith is in Christ and I am peaceful about whatever has happened. Several people here follow me on Facebook and they can share

I’d say thanks! The app has been a place of both comfort and consternation, but it’s never dull! I have learned a lot from you all, and appreciate that we could share our thoughts and beliefs without too much vitriol. I have communicated with some of you away from the polls and we’ve come together in our shared struggles.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions and for helping me better understand and communicate mine.

I knew about susanr, but NOT about rons until this moment. It makes me wonder of all the others I've seen here/interacted with that have seemingly become vapor, who may have actually passed on that we may never know about, because they didn’t establish personal relationships with others herein…π€·π»βοΈπ
