“You were all lucky to be graced by the presence of FATSHADOW”
Im saddened by the news of Ron. He and I lived on different ends of Jersey, but we had many of the same hobbies and interests….I always saw him as sort of a glimpse into my future if I ever made it past 65.

As my final days approach I’d like everyone to know how much I appreciate everyone's input. I know I’ve offended many, but believe me when I tell you it is not my intent to insult but to point you to the eternal verities.

I did not know they passed. I am sorry. They were both interesting and Rons could be very funny (I didn’t interact with Susan enough but when I did, I enjoyed it).
I guess I would say I appreciate everyone I interact with and thank you for making this app interesting and often thought provoking.
May their memories be a blessing.

I knew about susanr, but NOT about rons until this moment. It makes me wonder of all the others I've seen here/interacted with that have seemingly become vapor, who may have actually passed on that we may never know about, because they didn’t establish personal relationships with others herein…π€·π»βοΈπ

I would want people to know that this app and knowing you all has truly impacted my life in a positive way. I feel blessed to have "met" so many people that I wouldn't have been able to without being on here. Some have become my friends in real life, and even those of you who aren't IRL are still my friends here and I'm better off for knowing you. I wish I'd done a better job of staying positive, kind, and empathetic and I'm sorry for not always being so.

I definitely am not a communist
I definitely am not a socialist
I am a capitalist who sees the value of integrating more socialism into our society specifically designed to help the middle class.
I am definitely not antisemitic
I am definitely not anti religion at all
I am an atheist who respects everyone’s religious beliefs but I am opposed to anyone’s religion being taught in our public schools.
I believe in the American Constitution
I believe we do have a representative democracy and I want to keep it
I oppose authoritarianism and autocracy and I see us sliding into an autocratic executive branch and I don’t see our Congress or our Supreme Court attempting to stop that from happening
I would like to see more sarcasm, satire and humor in our SOH threads and much less hate filled name calling and corrosive rhetoric.

Amen, dearest Kay! That is a truly wonderful way to view this, and I know ALL of my exchanges with both these good folks were always civil, respectful, and often fun; and with susanr, though we didn’t necessarily share core beliefs, we actually enjoyed our interactions! Thank you for your perspective, sweet girl!

I would say that I’m in a much better place and hope to one day see them there, as well. I would hope they would remember how I shared Jesus’ love with them and that He is God and died for them to give them better lives both here and in eternity! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ and ππ»ππ»ππ»

I’d say thanks! The app has been a place of both comfort and consternation, but it’s never dull! I have learned a lot from you all, and appreciate that we could share our thoughts and beliefs without too much vitriol. I have communicated with some of you away from the polls and we’ve come together in our shared struggles.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions and for helping me better understand and communicate mine.

Hey folks! I’m not gone yet!
Thank each of you for your dear responses, but I’m just milking this a little. I’ve not exaggerated anything but since I’ve exceeded expectations thus far, I really don’t know if it’ll be this week or this quarter. And I will get my wife to tell you goodbye.
πΌDon’t cry for me SOH friends. The distant glimpse of heaven I had as an atheist, assures me of the love that waits.
In the mean time you’ll still have to put up with me.

I have a rule that I try hard to follow here - don't engage with rude people. I like engaging with people who disagree with me, as long as they can stay civil and respectful. Given my avoidance of rudeness, I have very little interaction with the fringe elements often found here. I appreciate all of you who can discuss a topic without tossing about insults.

My heart breaks to hear about these two active SOH users. I almost felt like I knew Rons because he lived across the river from where I used to live in PA. We have had several conversations about the area.

Thought you knew.
I’m in the final stage of a type of leukemia called myelofibrosis. My bone marrow is replacing healthy cells with nonproductive fiber and the effect is easy bruising, free bleeding, and very low energy. My oncologist reminds me of how very much I’ve outlived expectations, and I’m grateful for that. The chemo treatments are not helping. At 81 I’m fine with it. Because of an NDE I live both by faith and by sight. I am sorry that this will result in my wife going into as assisted living facility, but with her personality she’ll be okay. Didn’t mean to be so long winded about it, but thought your inquiry deserved it.

I did not know that Ron’s had died. My brain just blanked out the guy in Washington. I’m afraid we lost him too. Zod. I would want everyone to know that I truly loved many people here. This app actually truly changed my life. I thought I was so worthless first place I really felt appreciated and valued.
I would want people to know that my faith is in Christ and I am peaceful about whatever has happened. Several people here follow me on Facebook and they can share

I didn’t know RONS passed.. Took my breath away, when I read that! I always answered his polls. I agreed with him, a lot !!
Tops, believe that you are liked and supported..You don’t need to see us to know, we care…
I don’t say things, unless I mean it.
I can be honest, to a fault .

If you need or needed me, I was always there!

I’m sorry to hear of their passing. Both had many interesting & helpful comments, some of which I was not always in agreement, but who always made good cases for their points of view. I particularly enjoyed @Rons humor. Sad they are no longer with us.

As to what I would say...
"I might not know all of you well but I have love for all of you as does my Lord & Savior, Jesus the Christ. You might not believe in Him. If not I hope that changes & at the very least I hope I have reflected Him well. To those who do believe, I will see you again & know that I am in a much ch better place! π"

What would I want to say to my fellow SOH users (and some who I might even call friends!)? I would want you all to know that you have enriched my life through the interactions that we have had through the app. I would also want you all to know (if you don’t already!) how very much I love my Lord and Savior. And I hope that you would all come to a saving, loving relationship with him if you aren’t already. Even though I may not agree with some of you, I always respect your opinion. And I would hope that you would do the same for me.

I believe this… Heaven is for real. Believer or not..I believe it’s a time when you get to see things are really beautiful around you…

I had not heard that Rons passed. I had missed seeing him around for a while, but I’m so sad to hear he’s gone. π°
Susanr is sorely missed.
I would want my SOH family to know I appreciate your ability to educate me, to include me in your community, and the grace most have given me in our discussions. I value this group a lot, and would miss many that I consider friends.

I’ve thought about giving the ole lady instructions to let the SOH community know if something happens to me. I don’t have any personal contact with any other users. I know I’d like to know why someone is absent. Idk….
I never expected to live this long, if you go by mu family tree I’m long over due for heart failure. I feel find, meds seem to be keeping ticket in check, but you never know.
I suppose I’ll have the talk with the ole lady n tell her to let y’all know. I’ll give her the names of all the good ones and the ones that can GTH too. lol π

I think if you are a frequent user here you should let someone in your family or a friend contact us in someway should something happen. Otherwise we all are just left wondering and worrying. After 13 years, this place has become part of my life.

Not much really. I've enjoyed talking to everyone. The debates over the years have evolved...minds slowly roll one way or another. It is always nice to get a new perspective on something you thought you had figured out. Even if it could be from the same side with different information or history.
Over the years I have realized that most arguments are not even worth the effort if you can't have them in person. It's just exhausting online sometimes. Social media, including SoH, is full of trolls... Sometimes the conversation is better than someone winning.
