It depends where you go. Resorts and resort towns are usually safe but research on each area before you go or plan a trip doesn't hurt, just like anywhere.

I went to Mazatlan when I was a kid with my family for vacation and it was safe back then, but now these days it is not safe in that area anymore.

Just got back from Cabo - it was awesome! We walked through town in the evening, took Ubers all over, and had a lovely time. I never once felt unsafe!

My brother and I think my cousin are going there with my dad and step mom 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll hear from them what they thought when they come back

I used to feel safe pretty much anywhere in Mexico. That is no longer true. Now, I am very careful about where I go. However, I do feel safe in the limited places I now restrict myself to.

Are used to drive down to Baja couple of times a year until the cartels took over and it got too scary to go.

Stopped there on a cruise nearly two years ago. Was extremely unsafe.

I lived in Mexico City for 2008 to 2011 and loved it. But by 2011 the violence was so bad, that I will never go back.

I’ve never wanted to visit Mexico and have no plans to ever do so. SO went there decades ago when he was in the Navy. He has no plans to return either.

It’s got nothing to do with crime. Obviously I would stay away from the well known bad parts. I just have no interest. I would much rather go to Europe, Australia and Japan.

It's the only country where I have been arrested.

The police robbed me...and made me angry, so I broke stuff...which is why they came back and arrested me.

Just say close to where you are staying. Everywhere south of Texas is a crap shoot.

Stopped visiting there several years ago. So many better places to vacation.

I would feel safe in some parts of Mexico, but not others. I definitely wouldn’t feel safe in Tijuana.

We just took a cruise in March. We didn’t stray far from the ports,.

I live 60 miles from the border - haven't set foot in Tijuana in 20 years - used to go every now and then.

It’s a big place. I’d feel as safe or safer there than many US cities.

I feel safe everywhere.

Look out for Ana. She’s a rising star. No interest in going to Mexico. If you get lost good luck with that.

I have no desire to go there. Even way back when I was watching that dorky show The Love Boat (I knew it was filmed on so. a set in California)

Depends on which part of Mexico. Not every part is awful.

Yes but only in the tourist towns and going straight to the resort. I’ve been twice in the last 6 months for weddings but I don’t ever leave the resorts.

There’s been documentaries about all the murders over the years of foreigners murdered in Mexico.

Yeah, major places like Mexico City or resorts would probably be fine. But like anywhere, there are places you would want to avoid, and Mexico probably has a decent amount of those.

We did about 10 years back. Not exactly harmful or life threatening in any way. I’d much rather visit Mexico than visit any state in the Deep South where MAGA is located.
