Have you seen a ponderosa pine? They’re native to: WA, OR, CA, ID, MT, NV, WY, CO, AZ NM, & TX. They live up too 400 years and after about 100 years get reddish bark, and the bark is large and blocky, while the branches are curved. Love dry climates.
