@moosey, just don't divulge. Keep your privacy.
@Dylan, hide those people.
So easy and I can feel like I'm a part of my friends' lives even though they're hundreds or thousands of miles away. Makes all the sense in the world to me.

Sure. A lot. And all those things people complain about? Fixable, and occasionally worth it, to be in touch with faraway friends and family.

Back in the days of MySpace, I'd always get depressed seeing what parties everyone was going to, and friends hanging out with friends with me never being mentioned. Deleted MySpace couple of years ago, and when Facebook came into vogue, never jumped back onto the bandwagon for fear of it relapsing.

I quit using it back in June. I don't regret it and I haven't gone back even once, although I did fight urges for a few weeks. I'm really tired of social networking as we currently know. I want more privacy and anonymity.

polisciguy makes a really good point. But to answer the question, no. My friend made a FB account for me even though I didn't want one and I deleted it a few months afterward.

Research Facebook and the information that you thought was private... Deleted my account 2 years ago and you may too once you see how FB uses and sells your private info.

I began using FB recently for the same reasons as, lovinlife. now that I'm retired, I have also become much more politically connected and Facebook is a Great way to remain informed and involved.

I have family and friends in other states and it's hard to call every one of them once a week or so. We use Facebook as a way to keep up and plan family reunions and it's nice to post pics of your kids and talk about what's going on

This is a pretty useless poll. It doesn't show that 80% of Americans use Facebook. It shows that 80% of people with a mobile device use Facebook. Big difference.

All FB is doing is collecting info about you and selling it to corporations. How do you think they make their money. Zuckerberg is the devil. That mole on his face is a 666 if you look real close.

Facebook sucks. Why would u want to put your personal info out on the web. Talk to your friends on the phone or , oh my gosh, in person.

I also think its hilarious that being in the minority that doesn't have facebook automatically makes me "better" than you because all it takes to join in my badassness an betterness is to delete your Facebook! In the words of Nike, "just do it."

@Erick: not having a Facebook = badass?! No way! I've been a badass for the last two years and am just now finding this out?!
11/24/11 3:03 pm
I've never really thought about that....... But I have a bunch of friends that have one and they say it's pretty cool and fun. But I don't really care about that stuff. ????????

These days that's like saying "Do you use a phone?".
It's laughable to hear people who are proud of not using any social networks or even email accounts! Like somehow that makes them smarter.
