Do you think itโ€™s acceptable to take your shoes off during a plane flight?

All depends on the smell.

I would say yes, for longer flights. But only if you have socks on

Only if you can guarantee that your feet won’t stink up the entire plane and you don’t walk around barefoot

As long as they don’t stink up the entire cabin, idgaf what you do in your seat.

I don’t think it matters as long as they smell nice and you stay in your seat. Definitely put your shoes on if you’re going to walk around.

Hey! Some of us suffer from foot swelling during flights.

No no no. I’ve had to ask someone to put their shoes back on recently bc their feet (in socks) smelled so bad. The odor lingered for the rest of the flight.

If you’re first class! Or if it’s a 6+ hour flight! On my 11 hour flight to and from Japan I definitely took my shoes off.

Yes, as long as you don’t cause a noticeable odor or put those feet next to/out in the aisle. Some exceptions for children.

Also, I can’t believe how many people wear sandals and flip flops to fly. If there’s ever an emergency, they’ll regret not having on full shoes. It’s highly unlikely, but it *could* happen. I always wear loafers, dock shoes, or sneakers.

People do that shït. And then let their children walk barefoot into the lavatory. That’s the grossest thing ever people. What is wrong with you?

Airplane floors are disgusting.

It’s bad enough to just wear socks, but the people that are barefoot, their chances for some infection goes up 500%.

No that’s gross. No one wants to see your bare feet especially on the tray tables! If you don’t believe me check out “passengershaming” on Instagram. People are pigs and bare feet on a plane falls in that category.

Is there still room for that? Or if you want to take off a shoe, you need to put it in the overhead bin, which means you have to check another piece of luggage?

Slippers are not the same as bare feet on the floor. I wouldn’t suggest you looking at the pouch where the emergency instructions are - pig moms leave dirty diapers in there too! Do not eat off the tray table - people put their bare feet on that too ๐Ÿคฎ

I thought the question was about taking off shoes. Most people, me included, wear shoes AND socks, so I cannot assume shoeless means bare feet.
