If number is unknown, no answer. If it's important, they can leave a message.

I used to all the time and often would get paid for them. Sometimes it was $1 and several times they mailed me a form and I would write what I listened to on the radio. We each got $10 each so that was $30 for the family and that was easy as pie. But now I don't answer phone anymore.

Unless the survey is going to be unreasonably long or I am busy at the moment, I will be happy to answer their questions.

I don't get them anymore, but I would give them my opinion, and then some. Why? For the same reason I'm on SOH.

I hang up and is the reason I never believe pollster results. The results are truly never representative as the recent elections have shown.

Always, if they don't tell me first. Many will say, "I have a short three-question survey for you," or something similar.

The one time I got called for a survey several years ago, I hung up. Now that I've taken a Statistics class, I would probably have completed the survey to reduce nonresponse bias.

I usually don't have the time when they call to stop and answer a bunch of stilted questions.

That's how I feel. I'm not sure I want to give out personal info to someone I don't know!

I work for a survey research company doing data analysis on surveys. Of course I take surveys when the chance presents itself. In addition, taking surveys amplifies my voice. I go from being 1 in a million (or 300 million) to 1 in 300. Decision-makers hear my thoughts and make decisions based on them.

Depends on how much time I have and what the subject matter is

If I could be involved in ones that paid, I'd reconsider and do them! Lol

What if it's an automated voice? I got one of those today.

They've never asked me whether I was Republican or not. They just start asking questions.

How do you know whether it's going to be long, Tom? Do you ask them?

Hang up. You have no idea who you're really talking to.
