Inspired by @BamaGirl and her hangout polls; Tell us about your favorite hobby!
SOH! (J/K, but it is my most common pastime)
Logic problems & cooking & baking
Loving liberty, hating taxes, and long walks on the beach
Thank you! I might share some of my work soon.
Too many hobbies, too short of an attention span. Hard to pick a favorite other than the one I'm doing at the moment. Which for the next day or two is inventing an easy to use but reasonably robust way to keep Yogi out of the trash can. Metal work and welding, I guess.
I play tennis. Ride my bike.

Did you look that up? Hear it before? Or are you incredible?
Welcome to SoH!
Logic problems huh? Tell me more.
I was always off-put by arithmetic logic problems in school, but I love riddles.
Interesting. You mean to say it was a BS agreement right?
Anyways, I'm a minarchist. Welcome to SoH, friend!
But mainly the fact that private corporations have decided to take up the mantle
It's kind of destroying the evil mega-corp motif and letting us actually talk about a world post big government
I love writing music as well as playing it.
Also quantum physics is something I've been really into lately.
I like to paint. I haven't made anything in months, but tonight I started something. I like making mixed-media pieces and I often use coffee, hairspray and plaster of Paris to make my pieces.
My favorite hobby is Yu-Gi-Oh! card game. The objective the game is to get the opponent from 8000 life points to 0 life points. You can do this through monster attacks and damage. There is a catch. There are spell cards and trap cards which help you and hurt your opponent, respectively. There are also monster effects. It is actually a very complex game and there are game judges in tournaments to sort out any ruling issues.
I hang out in cemeteries and document the grave sites. It helps people interested in genealogy and those who may be interested in finding their loved ones.
Go to the site and try to find a loved one who has died. It's pretty cool.
I have many theoretical *interest* like languages and science, especially astronomy, but no particular active hobby except offline video games which isn't more interesting or original than saying you like watching TV.
Collect watches, vintage fountain pens and inkwells.
Music. Playing it and listening to it. There's so much out there, it's hard for me to get bored with it.
Knitting and cooking
With you on the cooking and eating.
Are used to do a ton of machine embroidery. My husband put a bunch of stuff in front of my sewing machine I'm trying to get out so I can do it again. I like to make my own embroidery designs.
Thanks for the share Izzy! I've never played it, but I played a lot of Magic! in high school. Do you go to tournaments then? How big is your collection? Do you create specialised decks? Have you played Magic?
My dad played cribbage in to his mid 90s.
Do you take Anarcho-captialism more seriously or is it more tongue-and-cheek?
My fibrofog doesn't even begin to allow me to figure this out. Heading to bed. Have a good evening!
Scrabble is one of my favorite games
Racing cars when I have the funds
Lately I've been playing a lot of cribbage and scrabble.
Cool! Be sure to tag me if you do.
I pretty much have two Yu-Gi-Oh! decks and a box of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I go to a card shop and play casually with friends. I did have a friend who taught me to play Magic two years ago. I played for a day or two during finals week after we finishes our finals. It was a Light angel deck. It was very good from what I could tell. After that I did not really get into Magic and we did not keep in contact.
It really depends
I would say a little of both
I like the sound of an ancap society, but I'm skeptical, so I don't like to put all of my eggs in one basket
I will say that the whole Paris agreement thing has given me a ton of ammunition to work with
I use to play with a neighbor in College. He helped us with car troubles and made sure we got home cooked meals. He taught me how to play. I loved it when he would call out nobs!
You've got to give us the answer on that one, Hammer! Can't figure it out!
Counted cross stitch, sewing, machine embroidery, applique, reading, watching tv.
I love board games but have no one to play with.
"This is my last statement"?
No that doesn't make sense does it?
I enjoy taking pictures, computer graphics, and cooking/eating/learning about various ethnic foods.
He didn't say anything at all?
Mixed media, scrap booking and bridge.
I have three main ones. First and foremost is travel. It is my passion! Besides that, I like to walk/bike to keep fit and I love to read.
Listening to classic rock and new wave as I simultaneously sip iced coffee and research politics and news.
My husband and his sister have always played Scrabble. He actually has a hand held game. I have an app on my Kindle.
I spend my free time on my foundation. Right now I'm collecting toys to give out on Halloween. We had 700 children last year. Everything was distributed within one hour. It was fun! Anyone want to work a table at our Halloween event?
"Offline". Guessing you like Paradox games?
- complex first person shooters with a storyline, like Dead Effect or Dead trigger
- Elder scrolls style adventures like Ravensword
Oh, yours is much more advanced than mine. I didn't have one with embroidery capability, and my old, 30 year machine went out on me.
My daughter's MIL was nice enough to give me hers, which she didn't use. It's a Brother Innov-is 900-D (meaning Disney). It only has a 4x4 hoop, and it's hard to find designs that small. I would LOVE to have one with at least an 8x8 hoop, so I could do quilt squares.
But right now, I've had to give all that up, as I don't have the money for supplies anymore, since the insurance doubled.
I had only been doing it about a year, and had learned how to do monograms on towels and had done some bibs, t-shirts, etc. I did Christmas designs on towels for all our kids for Christmas a couple of years ago. The supplies are just so expensive, and I couldn't buy enough, and go to enough classes, close enough together to remember what I'd learned.
I confess. I have heard it before. 🙂
I had to walk through the logic behind it to get the answer.
Some Overwatch and ESO. What about you?
