If your elementary aged child showed both a musical ability and an athletic ability, but could only pursue one when entering junior high, which ability would be you prefer your child to pursue?
As someone who did both for a very long time I went with music. Depending on the sport you can't play that forever. Music is amazing... I enjoyed my sport for a very long time but music has stuck longer
I didn't have to, they did, all my children played sports, and learned to play the piano, or guitar!
Music I guess, but realistically I would never limit my kid and make them choose one or the other.
Music because it will last longer throughout their life.
Music. Athletics, well.. I don't know... Too many accidents waiting to happen.
Music definitely. At 42, even if I had advanced to professional level, I wouldn't be playing sports. However, I am still on stage singing in front of hundreds sometimes thousands of people every week.
That's really tough, but I chose athletics. While in real life I'd let my child choose, I'll admit athletics would be more fun to participate in. Music would be a good emotional outlet but a jr high kid would probably get more out of sports
Definitely music. He/she will have it forever, athletics don't last forever. But of course I would let my child choose.
Whichever theyre happiest with
Also, I would MAYBEE persuade him/her into Theatre.. Maybe.. 😏
I picked athletics. It seems the better scholarships goes towards an active lifestyle than for music.
Both. Namely, dance and musical theater. :-P
Exactly what I was thinking too.
I think I'd want them to do athletic as well.Learn sportsmanship, how to work on team, fitness, and discipline. Music would be much safer though. Thankful my mom made me take piano lessons, but I use my athletic skills more day to day.
